10 Fall Wardrobe Necessities
This week, the temperature in Atlanta is going to be consistently below 80 degrees which means I can appropriately post about cozy fall wear for everyone to shop and style together. It's been a fun run summertime, but I'm not all too sad to see her go. She was frankly 3 months too long and I need a sane reason to burn a vanilla pumpkin candle.
Today, pre the request of several readers this past weekend on Instagram, I'm sharing the ten things you need in your closet to help style look for fall. These are probably things you already have, with a few new pieces mixed in. Shop this lookbook below!
Black Turtleneck - The ultimate closet staple, everyone needs a black turtleneck. They go great with jeans, sweats, or skirts. Wear them to work or when working from home. They're even great for nights out during the chillier months. Also, they're great layering pieces.
Camel Coat - I swear my style game changed the day I bought my camel trench coat. They go with everything and are the perfect outerwear for 95% of your fall outfits. Trust me on this one, buy your camel coat now and thank me later!
Chunky Neutral Cardigan - Taylor Swift said it best, cardigans are better than ever. Perfect for styling up and down, a neutral, chunky cardigan is exactly what your style needs to look effortless, comfortable, and autumnal. Style a fabulous chunky cardigan with a basic tee, tissue turtleneck, or graphic sweatshirt for a fun layered look. This is the perfect grab-and-go element for your fall wardrobe.
Turtleneck Sweater Dress - Great for the office, a night out, or dressed down with leggings and sneakers, a turtleneck sweater dress is a great element to add to your fall line up. I style mine with over the knee boots, Adidas sneakers, and even loafers if I'm headed to the office. Throw on a few fun layered necklaces for a touch of sparkle or a scarf for extra warmth.
Black Leggings - Black leggings, how I've missed you. It's been simply too hot for anything but biker shorts but as it cools off, I'm pulling my leggings out from the back of the drawer! Dress down your favorite sweaters or make an everyday dress casual. Black leggings are always the best for fall!
Everyday Denim - Loving easy denim lately! As the months cool off, look for a medium-wash, worn in pair of jeans with a raw hem for a fashion-forward and practical look.
Basic White V-Neck - I can't stop grabbing for my white tees lately! They're perfect for throwing on with a sweater or with a chambray top. Have these tops in your wardrobe arsenal as we slowly see September and October decline. If anything throw them on with a flannel around your waist or with a blazer for a more elevated look.
Neutral Work Pants - These high-waisted, neutral work pants are so great for casual or office wear. Dressed down, style them with a white tee and a few dainty necklaces. For a work look, style with a button up with rolled sleeved and a silk scarf knotted around your neck and loafers.
Everyday Chambray - Everyone needs a good chambray. Style layered with sweaters or unbuttoned with a graphic tee underneath. Or, go the J.Crew route, and style it layered with another top half-buttoned and half-tucked. My chambray looks great even thrown on with biker shorts and a workout top as I head off to the grocery store. Seriously, get a chambray and start styling!
Chunky Turtleneck - Everyone needs a go-to chunky sweater. This neutral, large knit, mock turtleneck from H&M fits the bill. Style with your jeans and camel coat for a stylish and effortless look or with your leggings and sneakers for a casual ensemble.
