Weekly Skinny: August 17
Today I am staring a brand new blog series called the "Weekly Skinny". I love how so many bloggers share what they are loving each week with their readers whether it be a new television show, a book, YouTube video, or items of clothing. I have wanted to start something like this for the longest time now and never quite knew what to call it. I finally decided on "the weekly skinny". I thought it was a perfect title to share a "skinny" or small view into what I'm obsessing over each week. This will come out each Wednesday and will feature a handful of things that I am loving or are inspiring me those seven days beforehand.
I hope this new blog series will inspire you and get you thinking about what you are also loving each week. This is to help you start enjoying the littler and simpler things in life and to appreciate the joy a small article or tv episode can bring you. Here is my very first Weekly Skinny, I hope you enjoy! The Bold Type -- Seriously, everybody is talking about this show! You have to watch it. It's a cover the lives of three twenty-somethings working different positions for a fashion magazine. One in writing, one in social media and PR, and another as an assistant. It's inspired after the girls of Cosmopolitan and is so incredible. It's also based in NYC (my fave city!). It's on Hulu and Freeform on Tuesday nights!
Dolce Vita Over the Knee Boots -- I went apartment shopping at Target the other day and although I did find things for my apartment, I found yet another pair of shoes (someones stop me please). I am so happy the over the knee boot trend is back and better than ever. Now brands with less expensive prices are starting to make their own version of OTK boots. The Dolce Vita collection at Target has suede block heel over the knee boots for just $50! They come in brown and black and are perfect for fall!
Lilly Pulitzer Tortuga Print -- My very last purchase this summer at Lilly Pulitzer before heading off to school was the Jane Shift in Tortuga Time. I think this print is SO "classic Lilly" and is one of the most beautiful ones I have seen in a while. The Jane Shift is my favorite dress we have ever made and what's even better, is 10% of the purchase made with that print goes to helping save and care for Sea Turtles!
Jess & Gabriel Vlogs -- I am a sucker for a daily vlog Youtube channel. Jess and Gabriel Conte make the most adorable and care-free YouTube videos I have seen in a while. They are two twenty year olds who fell in love and got married in December. Jess is from Australia and Gabriel is from Florida and they make the most perfect couple. They also record covers and sing professionally and are extremely talented. You have to check them out!
Glorious by Macklemore -- To be quite honest, I'm not a huge Macklemore fan. It's not that I don't like him, I just am never one to gravitate towards rap right off the bat. I have recently gotten more into the genre since going to college but this song is incredible. It's my "get the morning going" song. The music video is also one of the best ones I have seen in years. His music video has over 31 million views!!
