Does It Feel Right?
I've been thinking a lot about my future lately. I only have three more years of school until I'm off in the real world and on my own. It's crazy to think how quickly your childhood passes you by. What really split my childhood from my adulthood was moving from my childhood home my freshman year of college. It was like someone read the last chapter of my childhood and started the second installment of my life.
Since recognizing my growth from Childhood to early adulthood, I have been thinking a lot about the future on many different levels. From my career to a significant other to friendships and even my style. I always feel like I'm asking my self the same question -- does this feel right? I think sayings like "good things come to those who wait" are pointless, waiting isn't something I feel like doing. I want to seize the moment, and start right here and right now. However, I believe in what my gut tells me and if something feels right.
An example of this is when I changed my major back in April. Although I was giving up so much it felt so right to take a chance on something so mysterious. I knew I loved math and the security of a teaching career waiting for me was really nice and the bonus check wasn't a bad incentive either but the feeling I get when I sit down to right a blog post was so noticeable. I loved being able to share a brand with you all and communicate through social media with you all makes me so happy. I knew that changing my major was the absolute right thing to do.
No Doubt -- Some people will ask "how do you know when something feels right?". There are a few key indicators that something feels like the correct decision. The first thing I would say is that you have no doubt in your mind. If you decide something and all of a sudden you feel engaged, excited, and confident than you are on the right track.
Eagerness & Excitement --The second sign that something is right is if you look forward to whatever it is you are deciding between. If you are excited to spend time with your new boyfriend, excited to study for the class of your new major, or reader to grab coffee with your new friend than you are also heading in the right direction. Your energy will mirror how right the choice your making is.
Increased Happiness -- A third dead giveaway that you the feeling is right is if your happiness is overflowing. If you truly have no doubt and have a feeling in your gut that something is totally right than you happiness with increase automatically. If you are starting a new relationship, moving to a new city, or even buying a new dress -- once you feel that gut feeling that something is absolute than your happiness with increase. You will have a glow on your face that you are doing exactly what you need to.
So what feels right to you? What are you debating between or having doubt on? Let me know in the comment below, I would love to chat about it with you!
