Statement Sleeves & Mules

I'm starting to dip my toe (slowly) into the trendier side of fashion. I know that each season, trends come and go, and sometimes they stick around a lot longer than most people anticipated. This Fall, statement sleeves seem to be "the thing". I see tiered sleeves, over the top bell sleeves, balloon sleeves, cutout sleeves -- you get the point. I have contemplated buying statement sleeve sweater from SheInside and ASOS but honestly, I am always a little hesitant to invest in a trend -- who knows if they'll stick around for next year. Still with the ambition to go outside my comfort zone, I went on the hunt for a statement sleeve sweater that had a slight infusion of my style but also didn't break my bank.

I found the most perfect sweater at Target of all places and I swear as soon as I get paid, I'm buying it in more colors. It's a bell sleeve lightweight sweater with a bow on the wrist. J. Crew made a similar sweater but this one from Target sells for $23 and comes in four or five different colors. Additionally, I really love the slit in the sleeve. It's an extra touch that I wasn't expecting and turned out loving.

I styled this incredibly affordable and comfy sweater with my favorite pair of toothpick jeans from J. Crew. I purchased them a year ago in a Factory store for 60% off -- such a steal. The grey looked incredible with cheetah print belt from Old Navy. I love this belt! It takes a pretty simple outfit and polishes it off.

My shoes are my other favorite part of the outfit. Mules were the thing last year. All the big bloggers and influencer had a pair of Gucci mules, which cost a pretty penny I might add. Me, being the extra broke college kid that I am, crossed my fingers and waited for knockoffs and Target pulled through this season. These black mules from Target are almost identical to the Gucci slides from last season. What's even better? They re so comfortable, go with so many outfits, and are still just as in style as they were last year. I am so pleased to see mules in every print and color on my Instagram feed, they are well worth the money. If you are curious or nervous to try out a pair of mules, try these out. They won't dip into your bank account too much are just might convert you from loafers to mules!
