Feeling French

I am so in love with the Beret trend that is going on this late Fall. I have always loved everything French. I have studied the language for years and love the culture. Paris for sure is my dream vacation so seeing the classic beret in Vogue and on runways really makes my inner French "fille" happy.

This outfit is one of my favorites for this time of year. I love how dressy you can make it and on the other hand, how much you can dress it down. These jade J.Crew pants are a closet favorite of mine and were a total steal! I purchased them back in July off the sale rack at J. Crew for only $6. The combination of a fractioned price, an additional percentage off due to the sale rack, and a student ID, I couldn't turn them down! The jade color is a perfect shade for November too. I wanted the pants to take the main focus of the outfit so I styled it with my go-to, uber classic, Ann Taylor cashmere turtleneck. Although this is a relatively simple closet staple, it is one of my favorite items in my closet. It's so soft and cozy but I can style it with so many different items. From jeans to skirts and layer is with vests and button downs, it's one of those times that everyone needs in their closet for the colder months.

My beret that I am wearing is from the A New Day collection at Target and was only $12.99. Anthropology and Talbots have identical ones for a whole lot more money. Save where you can on the beret and splurge on the cashmere turtleneck. I went with classic black for this hat because I feel like its a color I can wear both Fall and Winter and into early spring. I am already planning on styling it again for Christmastime! My shoes are another Target gem. These black block heels are the heel that every woman should have in her closet. They're $20 and are the shoe to have for interviews, holidays, weddings, formal meetings, and dates. They are incredibly comfortable and the block heel makes them easy to walk in. If you love the shoes but already have a great pair of black heels, they come in so many other colors too.
