Weekly Skinny: November 16

This week has been endless, I swear. There are only two days until Thanksgiving break and I can assure you, I'm counting down the hours. I have really enjoyed this semester so far but a little time at home is much needed. I'm so looking forward to being with my family again, especially seeing my oldest sister, Leslie. All the Smith sisters haven't been together since July and it was for four hours. Other than that, I think the last time we all saw each other was in March (?). When all four of us get together it's like a reality show, I swear one of these days E! will call us and ask to make a show haha.

This week has been a relatively slow one in terms of work. I still have my regular shifts at work, and regular weekly assignments but only with only one test and one paper, I have had extra time to thoroughly clean the kitchen and rest of the apartment before we all go home for break. I finalized my living situation for next year, and brainstormed all of my Thanksgiving and Christmas posts for the next few weeks. I also found out that I made it to the final round of interviews for a pretty competitive organization here at JMU. Hopefully my last interview goes well and things go in my favor!

I, Tonya Trailer -- I love the Olympics and all of the drama that comes along with it. With the Summer and Winter games, I have a few favorite sports and ice skating always makes it into that group of faves which makes the Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan scandal extremely interesting to me. I have watched almost every documentary about the tragedy and sometimes watch Nancy's 1994 Olympic long program randomly. Finally, someone caught on to how insane this event was and decided to make a movie about it. What's better, is Margo Robbie is playing Tonya. She was incredible in The Wolf of Wall Street and Suicide Squad and I know she's going to kill it as Tonya. This film comes out this December, so you know what I will be seeing in theaters pretty soon!

Velvet Mockneck Tee -- Whenever shopping online, I always check out Madewell. I'm not one to stop and shop there because it's a little out of my price range but I might have to break that rule and buy this top. Velvet is so in right now and this mock neck velvet tee is to die for. It would be great styled with a fun skirt for the holidays or with classic jeans and mules for a casual look. I need the pink and black ones, seriously so cute!

Kate Spade Christmas Miss Adventure -- Kate Spade has done it again with their Miss Adventure series. The Anna Kendrick ones will always be my favorite but this new season with Anna Feris and Rosie Perez is fabulous. I've been a big fan of Anna Feris since I saw her guest role on Friends and fell even more in love with her on her podcast, Unqualified. The Kate Spade goodies featured in this short film are adorable and now I feel compelled to window shop there when I go home for break!

Blackwatch Flannel Sleepshirt -- Someone stole my Vineyard Vines christmas pajamas out of the dryer last year in my dorm. It still makes me mad just thinking about it, but they're gone and there's no getting around that. I am on the hunt for a new pair of Christmas pajamas but I never thought a sleep shirt would be something I would want instead. I think this black watch plaid sleep shirt from Vineyard Vines is so great for this time of year. I get really hot when I sleep so a sleep shirt is something I find extremely comfortable. I also love the red detailing! I think I need this!

Katie Dean Choker -- I was introduced to Katie Dean Jewelry by listening to the Lady Gang podcast. If you haven't listened to it, I highly recommend it! Katie was a guest on their show months and months back and I was so inspired by her story and how she followed her passion. I decided to reach out and just let her know a little about me and let her know what her story inspired me and I love her collection. To my surprise, she responded and was incredibly kind and inviting. She even sent me a few pieces to share with all of you. This crystal choker is my new favorite jewelry item. It adds a little extra glitz to an outfit, perfect just in time for the holidays. I can't stop wearing it, y'all! The matching bracelet is also so great to style if the necklace doesn't go with your top!

xx,

Lucy
