Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Last weekend Harrisonburg experienced it's first snowfall of the year. It happened in the middle of finals weekend which gave my friend, Erin, and I a great excuse for a study break. JMU has a great arboretum owned by the school itself, almost like our little botanical gardens up at JMU. With the new fallen snow, the entire garden was transformed into a winter wonderland. Even the pond was frozen over, despite the fact that only three inches of snow fell.

I wanted to take some pictures with the beautiful garden as my backdrop. In this outfit I am wearing a black and white stripe tissue turtleneck from J. Crew, and an embroidered jeweled black sweatshirt also from J. Crew. My skirt is probably 6 years old from Landsend but I liked a similar one below. For something extra on my legs I wore a pair of black tights with my black Hunter rainboots. I threw on my herringbone vest from J. Crew Factory and my black beret from Target to polish the outfit off. As usual, everything in this post is linked down below so you can recreate the look!
