Classic Prep in Plaid

As my style is maturing, there's one thing that will always stay the same and that's my love for classic silhouettes and styles. Bows to me will never go out of style and neither will a classic black and white sweater. It took me a year, but I finally got my hands on the Gayle Bow Sweater from J.Crew. I seriously love this little classic sweater so much, I can't stop finding new ways to style it and new things to wear with it. It's extremely warm while not being too heavy. It looks great styled on its own but also looks just as great layered with a tissue turtleneck or a button down shirt.

Today, I went for a preppier, more classic look by styling the Gayle sweater with a blue and white vertical stripe blouse from J.Crew. I found this top for $4 from a consignment shop back in Richmond, but you can hunt down similar ones from Banana Republic or Gap. For bottoms, I styled my wool paper bag skirt from J. Crew with the outfit as well. I love the texture the wool adds to the outfit -- it makes it a little more unique. As for shoes, I loved the way my black matte Hunter boots looked with the outfit. For an extra touch, I slipped on my monogrammed boot cuffs from West End Monograms.

I want to take a minute to talk about this incredible tote styled with this outfit. It's the St. Anne Monogram Tote from Barrington Bag and is seriously my favorite tote for the Fall and Winter. These bags are completely customizable from the leather straps down to the monogram style. The hunter green plaid is perfect for the colder months and the honey bee touch is just darling and adds a bit of uniqueness.
