Weekly Skinny: January 24th
I hope you enjoyed my life update yesterday. Those kinds of posts aren't typically something I love writing because I always wonder who actually cares. I am so wrong to think that because it seemed like a lot of readers got online from Instagram or checked out the blog themselves and for that, I thank you!
This week, I have a lot going on. Last week we had a four day week and part of those days had delays thanks to snow. Because it was such a short week, this week feels like I've been eternally stuck on Monday. Despite the feelings of the long week, I have almost every day booked with meetings, study hours, or shifts at work. I love weeks like this because when Friday rolls around you know the weekend was well deserved and you can look back on your week and see everything you accomplished. It makes grades, projects, and paychecks all worth it.
Greatest Showman Greenlight Rehearsal -- By now, most of us have seen or heard the music on the Greatest Showman. Slowly, they are releasing behind the scenes clips, specifically ones to the Greenlight rehearsal when they were trying to get the film into production. I get the chills every single time I watch these videos. First, Hugh Jackman is insanely talented and when the chorus joins in at the end of From Now On, I get tears in my eyes. Second, when Keala Settle tears up in This is Me, my heart breaks but I also know that's the exact moment Warner Brothers decided to cast her. You have to watch these videos, I think I do twice a week.
Chanel Spring 2018 Haute Couture Collection -- Yesterday, Chanel had their Spring 2018 Couture fashion show and the Grand Palais in Paris. Let's get one thing straight, I would watch girls in burlap sacks walk in a fashion show if it was at the Grand Palais, but Chanel is far from boring. This collection was full of tweed, tulle, and exquisite tailoring. I mean, I crystal jumpsuit? I have nowhere to wear it to, but dang I feel like it needs to go right in my closet!
Stripe Tie Back Bodysuit -- At this point, I've stopped all Winter shopping and am focusing solely on Spring clothing. No, I repeat no I am not buying wearing any Spring clothing anytime soon, but brands are starting to release their early Spring lines and this is the time to jump on the early arrival sales and the cutest items before the sell out. This stripe bodysuit from Forever21 needs a home in my dresser in every color it comes in. I love the classic neckline, the fun stripes and the absolutely precious bow back. They still have it in navy and red!
Eye Buy Direct "Notting Hill" Glasses -- I needed new readers desperately and I found myself needing them often so I decided to spend a little bit more money on a pair. Readers are relatively inexpensive, so even though I say I "spent a bit more money", you can easily afford these glasses. I have the ivory and tortoise print and they look incredible on. Putting your prescription in is extremely simple and the shipping is inexpensive too. If you sign up for their emails, you get 15% off your first pair!
J. Crew Seersucker One Piece -- Let me preface this by saying that this suit is on major sale! Use the code "shoptoit" to take an additional 50% off! I'm normally never one to spend more than $30 on a swimsuit, and even purchasing this suit I didn't break that rule. Because it's rouched a little on the side, it doesn't have too much give in the hips you have to wiggle into it (which disappointed me a little), but once it's on, it's so comfortable and fits like a glove. I bought this in the coral and I love it! If you do decide to purchase it, please know about the lack of stretch when getting it on. I had a little bit of trouble getting it over my bum, but it fits once it's on. If you don't mind doing a little dance to get into it, it's well worth the money.
