Run Around Town
Slowly but surely it's starting to warm up, which motivates me more to get dressed in more than yoga pants and a sweatshirt in the mornings. I love being comfortable, but every so often I want to look nice for class. This skipper dress is the perfect combination of both comfort and style. I purchased this dress last summer towards the end of July and loved styling it with gold hoops and gold sandals, but now that I'm at school I wanted to style a more practical outfit around this dress.
The heathered grey is extremely versatile for all seasons. I then layered my favorite navy vert from J. Crew overtop. It adds some extra warmth for early spring and looks great tied in with my pink New Balances and my pink Vineyard Vines baseball cap. Any dress that I can wear to Target with sneaker, but also dressed up with a pair of sandals and chunky hoops is a win for me. The navy and pink accents look perfect with the heathered grey too. This dress I swear is the most comfortable thing that Lilly Pulitzer makes. I was so skeptical about it because after all, it's a sweatshirt dress. I was so fooled when I tried it on, I love the way it fits, where the length hits on my legs, and the detailing on the shoulder. Not to mention, it's solid. I love the prints the brand does, but sometimes a simple, solid dress is the way to go. If you'd rather have a slightly more exciting dress however, Lilly Pulitzer does make them in prints now!
I know it might seem a little tough to pull the trigger on this dress, it was for me, but it's so vertsatile in your wardrobe. I mentioned I wear it with sandals and gold jewelry, dressed down with sneakers, but it also looks great on rainy days with Hunter rainboots when the weather's bad, and sometimes I throw a chunky sweater overtop of it and it doesn't look to bad either!
