Sophomore Year Memories with Snapfish + Coupon Code Inside
I only have two weeks of my sophomore year left which is absolutely insane to me. Sophomore year has been incredible. I want to do an entire recap closer towards May sharing everything that happened throughout these eight months, but today I want to share my sorority experience with you. Truthfully, I almost dropped my sorority this year. I am so beyond thankful I didn't drop. Post-Recruitment in September, I decided that I was going to be all in make my chapter what I wanted it to be. Between getting involved in sisterhood events, going to mixers, taking on leadership roles, attending Panhellenic events, and just spending more time with sisters I made Alpha Delta Pi my own.
This year, I found my best friends. Seriously, I am surrounded by the best people I know. There's something to be said about those friends who call you instead of text you, help you out whenever and check up on you to make sure you got home safe. I can easily say these gals are the people that I will cherish for the rest of my life. In addition to finding the sweetest friends in my pledge class, I also added a little to my family. For those who don't know, a "little" is a member of the newest pledge class that you are a mentor to. Typically, you end up forming a really great relationship with your little and then the following year, she takes on a new member making a "family tree" of sorts. Anna Lyle is my little and is an absolute ray of sunshine. We instantly clicked on bid day, she since joined my fam and now is looking forward to getting three littles next year (known as triplets) which I don't know how she'll manage that, but here's to hoping!
This year Alpha Delta Pi put on several philanthropy events, one being a baseball tournement and an all you can eat pizza event. Both of these events benefitted Ronald McDonald House Charities, our national philanthropy. I ended up being an umpire for the baseball tournament which was way more fun than I anticipated it to be, and thankfully no frat guys argued my calls (seriously, thank God). The all you can eat pizza event was also a smashing success. We raised over $4,000 in 6 hours and had a blast while doing it. I also managed to walk away with three whole pizzas so dinner for my sister, Lisa, and I were set for the week.
I ended up taking on a leadership role during the current Spring Semester this year as well. JMU puts on an event called Greek Sing which is a competition where each sorority comes up with a theme and creates a storyline through dance and music, creating a five minute performance. You can either participate in the event by dancing, creating props to enhance the performance, or be in hands. Hands is a group of girls who do motions with their hands in the background to add effect to the overall performance. Although it's such a trivial thing, it's extremely competitive and a little bit cut throat. It's such a fun time though and all benefits a local charity. This year, I am a "hands mom" so I'm one of the few gals in charge of creating the hands sequence or teaching it to a large group of girls in the sorority. Greek Sing is a week from today so all this week we'll be prepping for the performance.
Although this position is extremely stressful and time consuming, I am so happy I took on the responsibility. It gave me the opportunity to be close with so many of the girls in the newest member class, I got to develop my relationship further with my little and I get to spend time with those lifelong friends I mentioned earlier.
I'm a picture gal and am always the one asking for a photo when the occasion arises. I love printing off my memories and keeping them around my room in my apartment. In simple words, my sophomore year has been fantastic, way better than I even could have imagined it would be. Snapfish noticed how much fun being in a sorority has been for me, especially this year, so they wanted to help me commemorate the past two semesters with an incredible photo wall in my bedroom.

This photo wall was beyond easy to create. I knew I had dozens of pictures from this year, but didn't know how to correctly display them all. I finally came up with this Pinterest / Instagram wall of all of my favorite pictures from this year. All of the photos on the wall are from the summer leading up to sophomore year, and this year alone. To ad variety to the wall, I used the Large Print feature online and printed out seven of my favorite photos from the past two semesters. Right now these large prints are only $6 so take advantage while you can! I then added more texture using horizontal and vertical regular sized prints, leaving a one inch boarder in-between each photo. This all couldn't have turned out any better and was under $80. Apply your 40% off coupon code to that and you can see just how easy it is to make this wall.
