Black & White Chic
I haven't styled too many black and white outfits and I'm a little disappointed in myself! The color combo is such a classic, and both colors can be styled year round, so why on earth would I not share more?! On Friday, my sorority had a PR photoshoot for recruitment in the fall to be used on social media, the chapter website, and for frames in the house. The color scheme was black, white, and denim so I thought, why not kill two birds with one stone and shoot this fun B&W outfits.
The blouse I'm styling is the star tulle blouse from J. Crew that I purchased in January for literally $9 on super sale. I shared it all over Instagram at the time, so I'm hoping people jumped on the opportunity to shop such a sweet sale. The basic cotton black tee contrasted against the delicate ruffled starry tulle is such a great play on textures and styles. I can style this top with a skirt to be a little more dressy, or with a pair of shorts or jeans for a more casual look.
My jeans I styled with the star top are from H&M. Culottes are so in right now! I'm glad I was ahead of the trends a few months back when I purchased these in late February. Now J. Crew, Banana Republic, and Urban Outfitters are rolling out with styles of their own denim culottes. They definitely aren't your traditional pair of white jeans but they were $30, so they are well worth the money. And, they're high waisted too and I love a good pair of high waist jeans!
I styled by Soludo wrap espadrilles with this outfit. My Soludos are one of my favorite pair of shoes for spring and summer, and I think everyone should have a pair in their closet. They're great for walking and look great paired with dresses, pants, shorts, and skirts. Honestly, they're one of the most versatile shoes for warm weather. The Soludos site has great shoe options too if the wrap up's aren't you speed. From wedges, smoking slippers, slides, and classic espadrilles you're bound to find your perfect shoe!
