Summer So Far in Snapshots
I'm feeling refreshed and new after returning back from my 10 day long vacation in Virginia Beach. May was a whirlwind of working, blogging, brainstorming, editing, and getting back into a summer routine. Needless to say, a vacation was much needed after 50 hour weeks. With May 2018 in the books and half go June already gone, I can't believe I'm saying this, but my summer is more than a third of the way over.
Here are a few things I've been loving so far this summer:
Shows: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Cloak & Dagger, The Bold Type, The Goldbergs, Rise
Movies: Breakfast at Tiffany's, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Food: Apricot La Croix, Zoe's Kitchen Rice Pilaf (on repeat!), mixed berries for breakfast, watermelon Bubly
Clothing: Only thing I bought this month was this sweater and I can't get enough of it!
I kicked off the month of June with a trip to D.C. to sell with Rhoback, the company I'm interning with this summer. I have loved every second of my internship these past five weeks and still can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm halfway through with my job. The amount of knowledge I'm acquiring about running a business, ecommerce, web design, public relations and just about everything in between is priceless. One of my role models, Aliza Licht, says "you don't get a promotion by doing your job. You get a promotion by going above and beyond your job". Learning so much outside of public relations, is nothing but beneficial on my part.
I then travelled on to Virginia Beach for a week and a half of nothing but sun and sand with my family and some best friends. It was nice to catch up with people I haven't seen in months and it was just as nice catching a tan while doing it. I even tried to surf on this nice vacation and I can assure you, I didn't catch a single wave and don't think I'll get back on a surfboard in the near future😂. From there, I returned home and celebrated my sister's birthday and watched her graduate high school the following day. Now, my parents have successfully raised four girls out of childhood and into adulthood and are also empty nesters. So many milestones hit in just a few days!
