Twist on a Classic Look
One of my favorite combinations for fall is styling sweaters with shorts -- it's a twist on a great classic combination. Especially if you're ready for fall but it's still a little warm where you live, shorts and a sweater is a youthful twist on a New England style that we all love.
This bow sweater is from J. Crew and is one of my favorites come September. The cream and black is extremely chic and the bow adds and air of elegance and femininity to any outfit. Lucky for us, J. Crew Factory decided to bring back this darling sweater so we can shop it for yet another season. I style this sweater from September through March with skirts, jeans, and slacks. You cannot go wrong with black and white!
I styled this sweater with a pair of J. Crew ruffle edged shorts. These shorts, again are a closet staple all throughout the summer and make for a perfect transition peice into early fall. I promise you, navy is a four season color and one you absolutely can't go wrong with!
To help bring this outfit into the early autumn season, I passed up my sandals for a neutral ballet flat. I love the way the nude and black leather blend nicely with the navy and cream. Of course, my ivory tortoise shell glasses match the outfit so well, so I had to throw them on too. They're from Eye Buy Direct and match so well with my outfit. This is my official Fall bag! With my early fall outfit, I paired my Jemma NYC Poppins Bag with the rest of the ensemble. The girls at Jemma are so sweet and sent me this bag for Fall. It's a backpack, shoulder bag, and hand bag so it's perfect for any situation! It holds my computer, agenda, wallet, phone, chargers, headphones, a snack or two and my keys. Literally everything I need for a day of errands, a chapter meeting, or a quick run to campus can be held in my bag!
