Three "Put Together" Casual Outfits

I rarely wear jeans unless I have to. A big part of it is because I walk all over campus every day of the week and leggings are just more comfortable and I can walk faster in them. They're easy to move in and I like them much better at seven in the morning too when I'm getting dressed. That being said, I like looking put together when I'm wearing leggings because even if I'm casual, it doesn't mean I can't be presentable. After all, throughout my day I'm in classes, working at shift at the library, meeting with organizations, and sitting down with professors. It's smart to put your best foot forward even if you want comfort to be incorporated into your outfit.

For me leggings are the definition of being comfortable so the base for my casual outfits is a great quality pair of leggings. I never understood what a great investment an expensive pair of leggings was until this summer when I received a pair of Lulu Lemon Wunder Under leggings for my birthday. They are above and beyond any other pair of leggings that I have and feel so great on. They also hold up well in the wash, I just suggest you hang them to dry instead of throwing them in the dryer.

I then style a tunic or oversized sweater with my leggings. You can find great sweaters anywhere. Right now, I am in love with this one from Forever 21 and this one from J. Crew, but truthfully you can find great ones from Nordstrom, J. Crew, Target, SheInside and H&M. There are so many great places to shop for a good chunky sweater. Once I find the perfect cost sweater, I'll layer the look with a staple piece of outerwear. I recently purchased this oversized denim jacket and I love it. Whenever I need a quick extra layer, I grab for it. If it's a "warmer" day outside I tend to stick with my J. Crew excursion vest because they're a classic and come in very versatile colors. They're also very warm. They aren't like most quilted vests that come thin and compact, these are quite fluffy. Lastly, if I want to dress a casual outfit up even more I'll throw on my oversized blazer coat. It's from SheInside and it extremely affordable. It works well with leggings and a flat ankle boot or a fun, trendy sneaker.

Make sure to put some finishing touches on the outfits though by adding some fall and winter accessories. I love the fur pom pom hats from Pink Pineapple Shop. I have several and just rotate them throughout my outfits for the week. Once it gets cold, I always keep one in my backpack or purse just in case. I also love the solid fringe scarves from H&M. They're inexpensive and so warm. These are easy layers you can wear in the morning when it's still frosty, but shed later in the afternoon when the sun warms you up!
