Weekly Skinny: October 31st
Happy Halloween everyone! I hope everyone has something fun and spooky planned, or at least got the opportunity to celebrate this past weekend! I will say even though Halloween is an exciting day, I'm ready to see it pass. For me this trifecta of holidays is the best time of year, but the Thanksgiving and Christmas are what catch my attention. I may or may not have pulled my Christmas tree out of its box this morning and I know for a fact my mother started pulling out and assessing our home decorations this morning.
This week isn't nearly as bad as last week, and with such a fun weekend planned I'm excited that hump day is finally here. This weekend we have our Mallard Ball formal, Diamond Series (adpi's philanthropy event), and exec elections. Fingers crossed everything works out in my favor🤞🏻. If you're subscribed to the weekly email that goes out on Friday mornings, you'll see plenty of photos from Mallard next week!
For one night and one night only, the Dynamos came to JMU.
Halloween always makes me think of my childhood though. I went to Catholic school for nine years and every November 1st, the entire school would join together to celebrate All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church.
What I'm Cooking: Rosemary Skillet Chicken. This meal is so easy and perfect for fall nights. Also rosemary potatoes and chicken sounds like the best comfort food right now
What I'm Listening To: Pentatonix released a new Christmas album this past week. Although I don't think it's as good as their other two, but who am I to hate on a Christmas album?
What I'm Watching: Okay, I caved. I'm watching the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina like everybody else. I hate scary stuff and this is a little spook for me, not going to lie. I know, how boring am I? I can't stop watching though. It's so good. I love Ross Lynch and Kiernan Shipka and of course, Salem the cat.
What I Have My Eye On: These shoes! I've shared them twice now and it's getting difficult not purchasing them on pay day!
Ina Garten on Bon Appetit - The queen of Food Network visited the BA test kitchen to make scones with Carla and I think everyone swooned. Ina Garten just makes everything in the kitchen look effortless and seems to have the craftiest and most creative circle of friends. I instantly sent this video to my sister and mom when I watched it! If you love BA and Ina, please watch this!
Holiday Door Mats - Target released a line of holiday outdoor mats and they're just perfect. I need this Thanksgiving one and this Christmas one for my apartment. Also, they're $13 right now and they're such great quality.
Garnet Suede Ugg - The middle schooler in me is telling me not to share these but wow, do I love these deep red Ugg boots. I thought I would leave my Ugg boots behind after my freshman year of high school but I was so wrong. My Uggs are my most worn shoe for casual days on campus. These with a parka, a sweatshirt, and leggings is the perfect outfit in December and January.
Velvet Bodysuit - The holidays scream velvet and this bodysuit is such a great addition to your closet for a fun and festive outfit for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It looks great with black pants, jeans, or a plaid skirt. It comes on three colors and is 31% off for Halloween only!
The Blanket Scarf You Need - You need this scarf. End of story. Anthropologie is known for selling the most expensive of clothes and accessories (which is why I rarely shop there), but I think I might crack over Thanksgiving break and buy one of their blanket scarves. These are so comfortable and you can pay them off in installments if you need one ASAP! It's sold in six colors too, something to match every outfit!
