Best of Black Friday

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are enjoying time with your family, or maybe your close friends that you consider family today! I'm honored today, and every day, that you chose to spend a little time of your day with me. I want to sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your support, encouragement, love and involvement in shaping Daily Dose of Prep. Thanksgiving always reminds me to pause and remember how lucky I am and so on today of all days, I just want to express my gratitude for you and let you know how grateful I am that you allow me to be a part of your life.

Today is Thanksgiving which means in a few hours, we'll be taking to the stores to tackle the best that Black Friday has to offer. For a few years in middle and high school my dad, sister and I were Black Friday pros. We started small going to Short Pump Town Center nearby and places like Target and Walmart. We then moved up to the big leagues driving an hour outside of Richmond towards the Williamsburg Outlets to scout out the best of the best deals. Somewhere between going to college and reaching extreme exhaustion after our Thanksgiving feast we stopped going to the outlets, but I still love bringing out the crazy shopper in me for these Black Friday posts.

I feel like Black Friday now is more of a week than a few hours. It used to be that between the hours of 12 a.m. and 9 a.m. stores offered the best deals. Now it feels like stores are offering the best deals during Thanksgiving week. There's no need to rush out to stores and if you don't want to even leave your house, the same deals are offered online as in stores. It makes writing these posts much more convenient, but takes away the traditional competitive side of Black Friday. I always loved driving back from my grandmother's house to see hundreds of people lined up outside of Target and Best Buy waiting to get their hands on great items. Anyone else out there feel the same way or am I just crazy?
