January in Pictures

January has been as long as 2018 was. I'm extremely ready for February. I capped off the month with a nasty stomach flu my roommate brought home from her nannying job. It swiftly made its way through the apartment in the span of five days, knocking out everyone living here. We all were out of commission for a few days. Monday was the first time in my entire college career that I've had to skip class for an illness and I'm a little sad I broke my streak.

In truth though, January's been extremely busy. As soon as classes started back up a few weeks ago it doesn't seem like I've stopped to take a breath. This semester's classes are much more project based as opposed to last semester where it seemed like I didn't stop writing papers. It's a month in and I haven't written a single paper yet! Today, I'm sharing my cameral roll pictures to recap this forever-long month of January. Enjoy!

Snowy Day on Campus

This month was cold and snowy. We had a lot of snowy evenings throughout the month and campus looked beautiful under a blanket of fresh powder. I took this picture quickly walking from work to class and loved the way it turned out. Campus was quiet, the snow was brilliantly white, and the rooftops of the bluestone buildings stood out against the grey sky.

Gifts from Charlotte Tilbury

I received an incredibly generous box of goodies from Charlotte Tilbury several weeks ago. I haven't shared a review yet because I want to get an honest feel for the product but so far, it's been amazing. The miracle cream is life changing!

January is Student Ambassadors Month

After a four month application process, Student Ambassadors finally gets to welcome in new members. I'm just thankful I don't have to go through the application process again! Throughout the month of January the organization works hard to make sure the new members feel welcome and fully prepared to take on tours in February. This picture is of my mentor, Hayley, and I right before we surprised new members with their good news of acceptance.

Alpha Delta Pi Fam

We had a PR photoshoot for Alpha Delta Pi's winter recruitment the first Friday that school was back in session. Because I'm in charge of coordinating all of the PR events there wasn't much time to be in many pictures. My fam and I snagged one picture of us (minus my big!). L to R: Anna Lyle, Me, Katie.

Practicing my New Year's Resolution

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to look more presentable for work and class. I wanted to challenge myself to get up earlier and "dress up" for class. JMU is a pretty casual campus which makes this a little tougher for me. I've been wearing these Madewell jeans nonstop, and this sweater received so many compliments. Although this a pretty simple outfit, it's comfortable and polished.

Alpha Delta Pi's Newest Exec Committee

I never really shared it, but back in November I was elected to my sorority's executive committee as the recruitment and marketing vice president. I am in charge of everything recruitment, public relations, marketing, and social media. During September, I'll be a zombie. The eight of us in the image above pretty much run the sororities operations. I'm really excited to take on the role and use what I'm learning in class within my chapter.

Tretorns on Repeat

I can't stop wearing these shoes. These leopard Tretorn sneakers have been on repeat since I bought them at the beginning of the month. They're comfortable and look great styled with any outfit. I wear them with dressed up outfits or with leggings and a t-shirt and they still look great. The cheetah adds an extra touch of detail too. Who doesn't love leopard?!

A Casual Blazer

I've shared this blazer a thousand times over this past fall, so you know how much I love it. I styled it with a grey ribbed turtleneck and my Madewell jeans. Again, I threw on my cheetah Tretorn sneakers and a pair of tube gold hoops. Every item in this picture was purchased on sale and can be styled hundreds of different ways. I wore this outfit to a friend's birthday dinner a few weekends ago and received so many compliments.
