The Mock Neck Top You Need
Last weekend my neighbor texted me as the sun was setting if I wanted to take advantage of golden hour that evening. I am never one to turn down a photo opportunity, so of course I threw myself together and headed off with her to snap a few pics.
With the sun setting in 40 minutes, we didn't have time to scout a location or travel a far distance, so we ended up venturing into downtown Harrisonburg to find a few brick walls or store fronts that would make for a good backdrop. We ended up parking on the top level of a parking deck which turned out to be a great location for a photoshoot. The gorgeous sunset and neutral background made for a phenomenal setting to share my natural toned outfit.
I love neutral colors during the wintertime because they're easy and match the dormant world. The trees have no leaves and no flowers are blooming so color just doesn't appeal to me during the chillier months. In this outfit, I am wearing black high waisted jeans, a ribbed mock turtleneck, an oversized denim jacket, and my leopard Tretorn sneakers. Although it's not the dressiest outfit, it's a casual look I often wear to class or dinner with friends on the weekends.
I will say, this denim jacket has been one of my most worn items in my closet since December. I layer this oversized jacket with hoodies and leggings for a long day at class or with black jeans and a sweater for "dressier" days.
