Weekly Skinny: April 3rd
What a crazy week it's been and it's only Wednesday! I've already had meetings upon meetings and I even stayed up until 2:30 a.m. the other day absolutely lost in my work. I'm the type of student and worker who can get completely lost in a task and can't stop until it's finished. Markley Prescott took over my mindset the other night which resulted in an unexpected late night.
In addition to exciting launches and fun announcements, this week I started enrolling in classes for my senior year. I can't believe in just a month I'm going to be a senior in college. I touched on it a few days ago on Instagram, but I feel like I just moved into JMU. Thank God for personal growth and change though, I've come a long way in three years! Next semester will be an interesting one because I actually took my capstone classes this semester. For those unfamiliar with the term, the capstone is the final class in whichever major you take. That being said, next semester I'm finishing up part two of my concentration's capstone, my writing minor, and my science requirement. I swore I would never take physics again after high school, yet here we are 😶. I don't full know what I'm getting myself into!
I also only have 25 more days of my junior year. My last final is April 29th and I start my internship the following week. A post about my incredible internship will come soon, but in the meantime I just want to enjoy my last few weeks at school. It'll be weird not coming home to my apartment for a few months. I love living with my best friends and my routine here at JMU -- looks like I'll have to start a new one this summer!

Goal Digger Podcast - THIS PODCAST IS EVERYTHING. If you have your own brand or business, are trying to start your own company, are very active on social media, or have big dreams overall then you need to listen to this podcast. A few months ago, I brainstormed starting my own podcast (and tabled the idea) and ran it by my friend, Molly. I ultimately decided to file the project away, but she told me about the Goal Digger podcast and it's completely changed my through process on running my own brand and starting a company. I listened to it all day on Monday and took pages upon pages of notes.

High Waist Mom Shorts - I've been on the hunt for a pair of high-waisted shorts for several months now and I think I finally found both a fashionable and affordable pair at H&M. I like how these shorts have a cuffed hem rather than a raw hem and the wash it comes in. These shorts are perfect for throwing on at the pool or beach, but also for nights out and days running errands. They come in black too!
Maybelline Brow Pomade - My eyebrows are a little funky and over Spring Break, I finally did something about it. I swear I was born without half of my left eyebrow and one day in CVS I looked for a quick fix brow pencil to buy. I ended up choosing Maybelline's Brow Pomade because I had seen commercials of it. Although I picked this product up on a whim, wow do I love it. This product is inexpensive and effective. A little goes a long way and there are several shades to choose from. My only complaint is that that product doesn’t come with its own spoolie to help you apply the pomade, but those are cheap and can be found at the drugstore as well.
Game of Thrones Aftermath Teaser - Next. Sunday.For those who watch Game of Thrones, you know that season eight premiers next Sunday, April 12th. It's been almost two years since season seven and this final season has been highly anticipated. My sister, Leslie, and I both have our vastly different theories, but irregardless we're ridiculously excited. This "aftermath" teaser trailer shows what the audience can only speculate is after the Night King arrives in Winterfell🤯.
Sussex Royal Instagram - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their royal Instagram account this week. For fans of Meghan and Harry, or the royals in general, you should follow along for more personal pictures of the couple!
Easy Pull-On Short - Even though my body's in Virginia weather, my mind is in Florida. Once it reached 65 degrees here, I basically qualified it as summertime. I found these fun pull-on shorts that are perfect for days in class, running around town, or on the beach. They're so fun and come in a variety of colors and prints. They're perfect for springtime and can be styled all the way through September. I know I need to get a few pairs before they're all gone!
