Weekly Skinny: May 13th


So much to recap after an insanely busy week. The blog was a little sparse the past few days with me readjusting to a new work schedule. I'm excited to start sharing more on the blog though as summer quickly approaches!

This past week has been full of internship updates! I started on Monday and already love it. I never really traveled into downtown Richmond growing up, so I'm a late bloomer when it comes to navigating the streets. I did end up taking a wrong turn on the way to Starbucks one day and came across a beautiful courtyard where I stopped to take the picture below. Despite still being a little lost, I'm enjoying the city vibe downtown. It already makes me excited to look for jobs in NYC next spring as I graduate. I love walking places for lunch and seeing all of the fun shops and restaurants line the streets. The pace is quick, which is perfect for me, and I already added a few Lilly Pulitzer elements to my cubicle.

What I'm Ordering at Starbucks: Strawberry Acai Refresher. Amazing. Delicious. If you want an afternoon pick me up or want to treat yo' self on a Friday get this fruity little drink!

What I'm Watching: Game of Thrones has completely consumed me. I'm up to date on all of the seasons but I'm still thinking about last nights episode! CRAZY. The next thing on my list to start is LOST. If you have TV suggestions for me I would love to read about them in the comments!

What I'm Reading: I'm still making my way through How to Be an Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis. It's a great read if you're looking to start a business or just need the extra push to start on creative projects.


Big Little Lies Season 2 Trailer - If you need a show to watch, stop what you're doing and binge Big Little Lies season one right. now. Why? One, because this show is absolutely star studded (Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley to name a few) and two, because it's ridiculously well written. Originally a book, this series gets a second season on June 9th so you have plenty of time to watch season one, which is now available for all on HBO's YouTube channel!

Leopard Print Blouse - I wore this fun, cheetah blouse on my first day of my internship and received so many compliments! I love cheetah print, especially this slightly abstract watwercolor-esque cheetah. This blouse is comfortable, affordable, and unique. I love the cinched bell sleeve because the silhouette adds a bit of femininity. It looks perfect with black or white pants, which turns this top into a three season look.

Sophie Turner on Jimmy Fallon- Like I mentioned, I love Game of Thrones. I cannot believe there's only one more episode left. Seriously where did this entire season go?! Either way, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show, went on Jimmy Fallon last week. I love her personality and her relationship with Joe Jonas. She also shares information about the coffee cup debacle on season 8 episode 4!

Vineyard Vines Sweatshirt - I stopped into Vineyard Vines yesterday with my sister and ended up purchasing this fun VV sweatshirt. Over the past year, I've strayed from a hardcore preppy style into a more mature, toned down style, but as I walked around VV yesterday I couldn't help but miss wearing Shep Shirts and Lilly shorts on a regular basis. I saw this fun sweatshirt on the sale rack yesterday and knew I had to buy it. I love how it ties back to the traditional preppy brand but can be styled with leggings or denim shorts for a more casual look.

My Favorite Stars at the MET - If I shared words on every show stopper on the MET Gala's red carpet I think I'd be here all day. Vogue did share highlight videos of our favorite celebrities though discussing the concept behind their outfit and a behind the scenes of the day-of glam. I loved Sophie Turner's, Lady Gaga's, Kylie Jenner's, and Liza Koshy's.
