5 Cozy ( & Affordable) Outfits for Fall
I'm a college student so I subscribe to the college student's wardrobe. I'm a busy gal and am on campus from sunrise until after the sun sets. Between work, classes, Alpha Delta Pi, tours and Daily Dose of Prep I feel like I'm always going! I love looking cute on campus and feeling comfortable though, so I've slowly started adding cozy elements to my wardrobe that go beyond the traditional legging and t-shirt look I see all around campus.
For me, these looks are my way of feeling put together while being properly dressed for a long day out and about. Right now I'm loving knits. Because it's fall (finally) I've been scouting my favorite affordable stores for sweaters, cardigans and pullovers perfect for long days.
Today I'm sharing my five go-to outfits for long days on campus. I style these looks with my favorite casual sneakers like New Balances, Tretorn's and Adidas. These looks are all affordable and shoppable below!
This is what I wear when it's cold in the morning and then heats up in the afternoon. I'm a huge fan of biker shorts right now. They're trendy but also so comfortable. When paired with an oversized sweater or hoodie, you can't go wrong with this look.
If I'm not wearing my white hoodie with it, I'll throw on an oversized college sweatshirt, a cropped tee or an oversized sweater. Celebrities from Kendall Jenner to Princess Diana wore bike shorts, so I guess it's true that trends ebb and flow.

I mentioned this earlier, but I'm obsessed with knitwear right now. Both these pants and turtleneck are so soft, they almost feel like pajamas. This sweater is the one I couldn't stop talking about on Instagram stories a few weeks ago. It's from the Who What Wear collection at Target and is everything. The collar is so stiff, and I love the cinched sleeves. It also comes in black if you're not into the gray.
These knit joggers are from XLE the Label. It's a bigger splurge on the post, but are such a great pair of sweats to have in your dresser. You should treat yo' self because I promise, you'll get the wear out of these pants! I threw on my Arizona Birkenstocks with the outfit because they're honestly just so comfortable! If it was a chillier day, I would style this look with sneakers.

If you're feeling like dressing up but still feeling casual and cute, try out this sweatshirt dress. This affordable hoodie dress is from H&M and features a dolman sleeve for maximum comfort. It's also only $15! I did do some DIY magic on it by cutting a notch in the neckline. I felt like it was choking me, but nothing I couldn't fix. I styled this look with my cheetah platform sneakers from Qupid Shoes.
My backpack I styled with this look is sold out from Pottery Barn Teen, but there are similar styles on their website. Just like the bike shorts coming back into style, scrunchies are back in full force too. I think they're the casual alternative to a silky hair scarf. Lastly, I threw on my Free People sunglasses. These have turned into a Lucy Smith staple and I can't leave the house without them. They're only $25 (a great price for Free People) and get so much love on Instagram and from my friends. You need these sunnies!

Probably the look I wear the most, this legging/sweater combo is a classic for on campus look. That's why I love fall so much -- I can swap my oversized sorority t-shirt with a cable knit sweater and look 100 times more presentable. If it's rainy, windy, or just a dreary chilly day out I'll style this look with my cowboy boots. I love these boots. They're from a store on Broadway in Nashville but I linked a similar pair below.
This sweater is an old J. Crew sweater from their Pointe Sur collection. I watched the price drop on this sweater for months and finally snagged it last July. I found a similar one below! You can't beat chunky cable knit in the fall. My pants are my favorite pair of LuluLemon WunderUnder leggings. Worth. Every. Penny.
Lastly, I paired this look with my favorite St. Anne Tote from Barrington Bags. These totes are so classic! They have plenty of storage space and smaller compartments for knick knacks.

This fall look is knit from head to toe. First, this mock turtleneck is so cute in any outfit. With a suede skirt and boots, jeans and loafers, or even your favorite pair of knit pants. It's lightweight but warm and is only $18! I styled the sweater with my new knit pants from the Who What Wear collection at Target. No these are not sweatpants, but knit sweater-pants. They're impeccably soft and look great styled up for the office or down for campus. I wore them just yesterday to a formal meeting and then to the library after!
I styled these ankle-length pants with my Adidas Superstar sneakers. These sneakers have been my go-to recently. I found them at T.J. Maxx just two weeks ago. I love them because instead of the typical black stripes on the side, they're gold! The price was that really sealed the deal though - they were only $34 as opposed to the typical $60 you would find in stores! You can't find the $34 ones online though, you have to go in store! I linked a similar gold sneaker below, but go to your local T.J. Maxx for on sale Adidas!
