February in Pictures

Bringing around another monthly recap, but in pictures! Crazy that the next time we'll chat, it'll be March. This month was a busy and personal one for me. A lot of things shifted in my life these past 28 days. From walking away from a relationship to shifting perspectives from college to post-grad life - I feel like I grew a lot in over the past few weeks. I even had my first full-time job interview, which was nothing short of nerve-wracking and exciting all in the same breath.

Despite the growing pains that February brought, it was a wonderful month of learning and stepping outside of my comfort zone. I also spent a lot of time alone this month, looking at life and fixing where some areas needed repair - you can read more about that here and here. But for what it's worth, February had some great memories and I'm here to share them all with you.

This past month, my cousin Anna, asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. Anna is one of my best friends and has been there for me whenever I need to talk to someone or need guidance. She also takes a bunch of photos for the blog, especially during the summertime.

The thing about Anna is that she and I share a close faith-based bond and grew from there. I swear she also has a sixth-sense for knowing when to reach out to me. I distinctly remember having a not-so-amazing day and this greeted me on my doorstep and totally surprised me. She's just the best and I can't wait to cheer her on during her big day!

This month I think I received a picture of my sweet baby kitten at home almost every single morning. This photo of him starring directly into the camera melts my heart.

Throughout February, I also spent a lot of time in the kitchen trying out a few easy recipes. I'm slowly reading through Carla Lalli Music's cookbook of simple and easy (yet delish) recipes. If you're new to cooking, you need this book!

Of course, Valentine's Day came and went this month. It was another Valentine's Day spent more like a Galentine's Day and I wouldn't have had it another way this year. I mentioned getting out of relationship this past month, so spending the day with my best friends was much needed. I went to a Valentine's Day date function with a bunch of my girlfriends that we go to every year and we had a great night! We were all having such a good time, we didn't really take too many photos. The middle picture with my friend Lanie is about the only one I have from the night. I wore this romper and these shoes.

I styled a whole bunch of outfits this month too. I feel like I've shared more OOTD's this month than I did all fall semester and I think (?) you all are loving it on Instagram. From me sporting the fringe jacket, to cozy days on campus, decked in my tour gear, pretending to be a cheetah girl or heading off to chapter - I shared a whole bunch of looks with you all.

This past Saturday was hands down the best day of the month. It all started with sleeping in and then giving a tour. During my tour, all the plans I had for the day fell through and instead of scrambling about to get plans together, I just let the day surprise me.

My friends and I ended up getting out of town for a few hours and headed off to Cross Keys Vineyard for a wine tasting and small plates. It was a beautiful and sunny 55 degree day, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to sit outside. When we came back into town, my cousin, who I hadn't seen since Thanksgiving, texted me saying he was in town so last-minute we ended up going to dinner. After dinner a few of us bopped over to a new bar in town to meet up with a handful of our friends. It was a day with little-to-no expectations and what a pleasant surprise each event was!
