Sorority Recruitment: Weekend Two

It's finally over. Recruitment has come to an end. For you style gurus, don't worry -- this will be my last post regarding the greek event! I can't believe ten months of hard work and preparation have come to an end. As sad as I am that I'll never experience the excitement of recruitment again, I can't say I'm sad the two weekends have finally come to a conclusion. These past two weeks were exhausting and if I'm being honest, I feel like the last four weeks blended together into one never-ending day.

JMU celebrated Bid Day on Sunday, September 15 and now that it's all over, I can't wait to get my life back on track. I admit, I did sneak out of Bid Day a little early so I could head back home and reorganize my life. After a deep cleaning of my apartment I'm starting to feel back to normal.

It's weird that I don't have any meetings on my calendar either. The last four weeks have been nonstop meetings, events, or free time spent on projects. Even on my Fridays off, I still spent them painting murals, hanging decorations or working on paperwork. Now that I don't have to work on recruitment, I feel like I have all the time in the world to do things.

Despite the weeks being long, they were so rewarding. this was my first long-term project and I ended up learning so much. I learned how to lead a large group of people, delegate and how to anticipate mistakes. What I'm really amazed at is the level of support I received from sisters. I've never felt more in sync with this chapter. I get it, recruitment is long and oftentimes not very fun. It takes a lot of time our of your week but JMU ADPi was great to work with and I'm really proud of what we've accomplished.

Alpha Delta Pi welcomed home 60 new alphas and had two great weeks while doing so! Here are some photos of the second weekend of recruitment and Bid Day.
