Weekly Skinny: August 28th

First weekly skinny  of senior year! What a fun week it’s been already. My friends and I enjoyed our last orientation week at JMU and I’ve officially been to all my classes and deemed which classes are going to be spectacular and which classes won’t. I even endured the dozens of “fun facts” that every professor makes us share on the first day of class.

Now that I’m back on a routine, I’m excited to start posting blogs again. Those two weeks I took off at the end of the summer were nice, but it’s always good to get back to what feels right and writing for Daily Dose feels right. It’s been a little gloomy and chilly in Harrisonburg these last few days which puts fall on my mind. In just a few short weeks, I know I’ll be swapping shorts for leggings and sandals for boots.

I’m also excited to start thinking about all the things fall brings. Football, chilly air, MLB World Series, Halloween, sweaters -- you know, the good stuff! In addition to thinking about all things autumn, I’ve been loving other things too. Here’s what’s been on my mind!

Biker Shorts - I’m loving everything about this trend. Stars from the Kardashians to the late Princess Diana love the biker trend to. When paired with a cute sneaker and an oversized sweatshirt or cropped shirt, you can’t go wrong with this look. Think of it this way, they’re leggings with the legs cut off. These shorts are so comfortable and this pair I’ve linked is also affordable.

The King Teaser - Timothee Chalamet is one of my favorite actors. I think he’s the next Leonardo DiCaprio and I am here for it. He plays complex and dynamic characters in every work he does and I know The King will be no different. Chalamet portrays the young King Henry V during a time of inherited war and chaos.

Downton Abbey Movie - LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY. I binged Downton Abbey over the summer and I can’t wait for the movie. Just two days ago, my mom and I were talking about where we would meet to watch it since I’m at school and she’s at home. I still miss Matthew, but Branson is a close second favorite.

70’s Plaid Oversized Scarf - With the approach of fall, I think I need a new scarf. I wear a scarf almost every day to class from November through March and this oversized 70’s scarf is so versatile but shares some of the most stylish colors for fall. It’s also extremely affordable.

Animal Print Mini Dress - Cheetah print is always acceptable and this dress is no exception. I love this leopard mini dress. It’s perfect for transitioning from summer to fall. Style it with your favorite pair of sneakers, flats, or boots for a stylish look for any occasion.
