Weekly Skinny: January 8th
It feels like forever since I’ve sat down to write a blog post. I really needed the month of December to take on finals week, settle back into my internship and enjoy the holidays with my friends and family. So thanks for being patient with me!
Now that it’s a new year, I have a new posting schedule. I want to keep up with posts but on a realistic schedule. I will be posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on Daily Dose of Prep and hope to bring you the same fashion and lifestyle posts you enjoy reading.
Kicking of this first week of posts, I’m sharing another Weekly Skinny with you all. I’ve found a few new products and videos worth sharing and I just can’t wait any longer!
LaNeige Glowy Balm - Sephora still intimidates me, but I did a lot of gift shopping there this Christmas. I have to say, the gift sets are marked at a great value and any sister, mom or BFF in your life has something she wants from Sephora. When shopping, I saw the La Neige Glowy Balm kit and treated myself since I’m having horrible season of dry lips. This stuff is a God send! Although it’s on the pricier side, you can buy individual tubes as well. The berry is the best!
Little Women - Go see this movie! I’ve been waiting for Little Women to hit the screen and it did not disappoint. All four girls are spectacular and Timothee Chalamet just can’t be beat as Laurie. I’m still working my way through the book, but I just couldn’t wait any longer! This was the movie of 2019.
Madewell Oversized Hoop Earrings - Another year, the same gold hoop obsession. Every time I shop on Madewell’s site or wander into the store I saw these earrings and never purchased them. I finally convinced myself and I am so happy I did! These oversized tube hoops are perfect for night’s out or gamedays. They’re a much more affordable alternative to Sheila Fajl hoops and are lightweight. They won’t tear your ears or break the bank.
You Season 2 - Whoa. What did I just watch? Netflix has done it again, and served us a darkly twisted season full of misguided love, infatuation and stalking and we couldn’t get enough of it. The premise of this show, although super creepy, is amazingly executed this season leaving all us viewers with full body chills and bewilderment.
Spinning Out - Another Netflix original show, Spinning Out is about talented ice skating sisters. One with her Olympic dreams ahead of her and one with them all slipping away. The mother, played by January Jones (ugh, Mad Men!), suffers from bi-polar disorder and adds another layer of struggle to the story. Willow Shields from the Hunger Games and Kaya Scodelario from The Maze Runner play the two main characters and leave the audience wanting more.
Free People Friday Night Platform Boot - I finally got my hands on a pair of these beautiful boots. I’ve had my eyes on them for almost a year now and never could reason spending the money. Well, I bought a used pair and now look for any excuse to wear them out. They run true to size and are shockingly comfortable to walk in looking at how tall the heel it. The platform on the toe makes for less foot pain and more style.
