Weekly Skinny: July 20
I'm back from vacation and in Georgia for the indefinite future. This past week I surprised my parents and spontaneously showed up to vacation to spend time with my family. I thought I would have to miss out this year but thankfully, I had the funds and the vacation days to spare. It was so refreshing to see my sisters and parents for a few days. We had a great time catching up, having meals together, and spending long days on the beach with one another.
Although it was a great week of family time, it's nice to be back in Atlanta with work and settling in at the top of my to-do list. The adjustment from college to the work world is a tough one, so now with six months of staying put on the horizon, I'm excited to continue to explore my new home.
Olehenrikson Truth Serum - After hearing people swear by Vitamin C in their skin care routine I decided to go out and explore the best options for me. I visited my local Sephora and ended up trying the Olehenrikson Truth Serum. I've seen a visible difference in my skin's bounce and vibrance. It also doesn't leave my skin feeling oily or sticky which is a huge bonus!
Leilani Chair - My work just announced that we are reverting back to a five day work from home schedule due to the recent Covid-19 spike which means that I will be spending a lot of time at my home desk. That also means I needed to upgrade from the too-tall and too-small foldable stool that I had been previously using. I ripped the band aid off and invested in a really nice desk chair from World Market. This velvet upholstered dining room chair is perfect for your home office. It comes in four colors and is on sale right now for under $100.
Nike Print Polo Dress - Although Wimbledon isn't happening this year, you can still dress up like you're drinking a Pimm's Cup and eating strawberries and cream. This Nike tennis dress is perfect for hitting the court in your hometown or running errands. I love the vintage tennis print too!
Sing to Me Instead Deluxe by Ben Platt - This is my go-to album to listen to these days because it makes me want to get up and dance, sing in the car, and feel the highs and lows that life brings. Ben Platt is an amazing performer and singer/songwriter and this album is worth a listen. Take time to listen to his Radio City Music Hall performance too - it's spectacular.
Brazilian Bum Bum Cream - My Sephora birthday gift this year was the Brazilian Bum Bum cream duo and once I run out I'm sprinting to buy more. Not only do these little pots of body cream soften and smooth your skin, but it leaves you smelling like vanilla and spice. This cream is the only reason my crisp sunburn last week turned to tan this week. I lathered myself in Bum Bum Cream each day and I swear it kept my red skin on my body long enough to heal.
Zara Puff Sleeve Top - Zara does it again with the cutest crop tops on the planet. My roommate bought this puff-sleeve crop top a few days ago and ended up passing it along to me and I have to say it's my new favorite. I love the sweetheart neckline, the sleeve length, and the puff shoulder. The material is thick and perfect styled with jeans. It runs a little small though, I have a larger chest so I'm wearing a medium!
