Weekly Skinny: November 7th

Hi November!

Wow, did November show up and work some beautiful magic to Virginia. In the past weekend, the temperatures got downright cold and half of the trees don't have leaves anymore. It's amazing what a few cold, windy days can do to welcome in a season. It's even supposed to snow in the Shenandoah Valley next week! What a fun weekend it was too! Between my last college Halloween, a Student Ambassadors (tour guides) retreat, and a trip to Bold Rock Cidery with my sister, Lisa, the weekend went by in a flash.

We're now in November though and I can see the light at the end the fall semester tunnel. Thanksgiving is in three weeks and I can't wait to be home for a few days. I know I'll have to work a little here and there but I'm going to try to relax as much as possible. I also kicked off Thanksgiving and Christmas content this week, so I'm one happy girl!

Here's what I'm loving this week...

Fran Acciardo Tastes Trader Joe's Wines - One amazing thins about blogging is meeting people interested in the exact same things as you, but having a friendship from far away. Fran is a senior at Wisconsin and also has a blog. Check it out here! Not only are her and I pretty similar with fashion and our stage of life, but we also love wine. She and her friends tasted and reviewed affordable Trader Joe's wines and I now I can't wait to try them out!

J. Crew Christmas Collection - J.Crew does holiday wear best. Truly, can out do their tartans, knit, outerwear, party wear or sparkly accessories like J. Crew during the holiday seasons. They released their Christmas collection this past Monday and it is just phenomenal. I have to admit, I spend my writing class online shopping this past Tuesday just dreaming of all the outfits I could make for holiday parties and dinners. If you're looking to spice up your festive wear, start with J. Crew! I linked a few of my favorite new arrivals below.

American Royals - I almost always have a reading book with me. I saw American Royals all over Instagram stories a month ago and decided to pick it up. I just finished Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake and loved the series. It turns out Blake's review of American Royals was on the back of the book jacket. Let me tell you, this book is amazing. It's fiction that follows the lives of the American royal family if George Washington became king rather than president. It's a fun read to break up all of my work for classes.

Camel Colored Coat (Affordable!) - I love working with SheInside because I can experiment with trends and styles on a budget. I am loving wearing formal coats with athleisure looks on campus. When I was browsing the SheIn site last week I fell in love with this coat and knew I needed to have it! Friends, this coat is the perfect thing to throw on for a formal event, but also with leggings, trendy sneakers and an over-sized sweater and scarf. What a fun way to make a casual outfit look polished. This coat is so affordable, but use my code 4ddfprep for an additional 15% off!

Ashley and Jared's Wedding Video - Y'all, I cried. First, I am a loyal Bachelor National fan (my dad is too), and I feel like I've experienced the entirety of Ashley and Jared's relationship. From watching Ashley sob on her two-on-one date with Chris Soules to seeing her join the Bachelor in Paradise family (twice), play in the Bachelor Winter Games and then finally fall in love with Jared. Not only is she a JMU alum (Go Dukes!) but seriously, these two are perfect for each other. This video is worth the watch.

Giselle Braided Headband - I'm still very much in love with the embellished headband trend and this braided headband is perfect for the holidays and all the formal events you might have to go to. I even love wearing simple pair of jeans, sneakers and a sweater and jazzing up an outfit with a fun headband. This dusty rose color is also perfect for year-round accessorizing.
