Weekly Skinny: October 16th
Atlanta has been full of fall vibes these past few weeks and I am here for it! I am so excited because this weekend I'm headed north to Virginia for the weekend for a bridal shower and bachelorette party. On the way home, I'm stopping in Raleigh to pick up my best friend, Sarah. It's the first weekend in a while that I don't have to work and I can't wait to be reunited with friends and family.
Although it's been a busy few weeks I have to say October is the first month that Atlanta has felt truly like home. I have a small group of girlfriends that also just graduated and moved so we're all in the same boat of navigating a new city together. It's almost like we're our own little Sex and the City friend group - I love it and I think I'm the Miranda lol (no eating cake out of the garbage for me though!). See what I'm loving this week!
J.Crew Poncho - If there is one thing that I love from J.Crew right now and am selling left and right at the store, it's this poncho. I'm obsessed. It is the coziest and snugliest splurge-worthy piece that I recommend to every shopper. This poncho is selling fast and comes in three colors. I bought the black one and style it with denim, pixie pants, leggings, sneakers, boots - you name it! AND it's on sale right now! It's already oversized, but I sized up to a small because I wanted it to be long enough to cover my behind.
Crockpot - The smell of a Crockpot meal cooking when I come home from work reminds me of my days in high school when I would walk home and the entire house would smell like food and fall candles. I finally bought myself a Crockpot last week and don't think I can cook a stovetop meal again! I love this thing! Easy prep, comforting food, and simple cleanup makes for a happy Lucy. My first meal was chicken and gravy with potatoes and this past Tuesday I made this chicken burrito bowl meal for Bachelorette night with the gals!
Christmas music is back! - We're halfway through October which means I can appropriately listen to Christmas music without too much judgement from those peeking at my Spotify recents. I’ve already started listening to a few of my favorite albums and playlists: Harry Connick Jr.’s “When My Heart Finds Christmas”, Leslie Odom Jr.’s “Simply Christmas”, and the Christmas Pop Spotify playlist. See more on my Spotify here!
Kitchen Gadgets from Anthropologie - I peeked into Anthro this past weekend over my lunch break and am obsessed with their kitchen goodies. They are so darling and are the perfect pieces that make your house a home. Anthropologie always has a way of bringing just the right amount of color and print into your home without being cheesy either. Check out my favorites below.
Faux Leather Leggings - The perfect pair of pants for fall are right. here. and under $30! I love an oversized sweater as much as the next gal and I’ve been looking for a way to elevate them and style them for the fall. These faux leather leggings are the perfect pair of pants to match with my oversized sweaters so I can wear them to work while looking fabulously dressy. Style these with a sneaker for casual looks or dress them up with your favorite pair of mules or loafers. They come in four different colors - I bought the light brown pair!
Throne of Glass - I love to read and as much as I enjoy a classic lit book, I love fantasy. I guess the world is crazy enough that I like to completely remove myself from it for an hour or so through a good book. I kept seeing great reviews about Throne of Glass on TikTok and completely wrote them off until my friend, Meg, told me to speed to Barnes & Noble after work one afternoon and get it. This book grabs your attention by the third page. If you enjoy a fiction or fantasy novel, pick up a copy of Throne of Glass.
