Weekly Skinny: October 21
Happy Monday! Can you believe we're more than halfway through October. Halloweekend and Homecoming are coming up at JMU and before we know it, I'll be switching to Christmas playlists on Spotify. Last week was midterms and I feel like I'm catching up on a weeks worth of sleep. If there was one great thing to come out of this weekend though, my family in ADPi added another little to the group. I've achieved official matriarch status of the oldest in the fam. Sadly, this solidified that I'm officially a senior and have to leave in 6 months. 😭
What I'm Watching: Looking for Alaska
What I'm Eating: Chicken Noodle Soup on repeat
What I'm Drinking: Medicine Ball tea from Starbucks
What I'm Listening To: My Fall Drives playlist or Christmas Pop playlist
Gal Meets Glam Coat Collection - The only way you could have missed this event is if you didn't go on Instagram at all this past week. I swear every big name blogger was at the coat launch, which meant us followers were lucky enough to see all the footage. Julia Engel launched her new collection of coats this past week and the internet is swooning over them. Shop them below!
Barstool #SlobGate Yankees Stream - I'm a sad Yankee fan this Monday morning after the bottom of the ninth loss in during game 6 on Saturday against the Astros. In addition to my love for sports, I follow commentary on some of my favorite teams through Barstool. After the Yankee fans at Barstool HQ trashed the office last weekend, they were forced to only listen to the game via narration from somebody who knows nothing about baseball. The video was hilarious and slightly agonizing. Watch for a great laugh.
J. Crew Extra 25% Off Sale - NOW is the time to shop J.Crew's sale section. They have your favorite swimwear, sweaters, denim and outerwear on an extra 25% off sale. I linked my favorites below!
Looking for Alaska on HULU - Y'all. SO. GOOD. From the cast to the execution of the storyline to the early 2000's vibe. Kristine Froseth plays Alaska and is so perfect for the role. She plays in one of my favorite new shows, The Society, and quickly caught the eye of casting agencies and producers. If you enjoyed the book or coming of age stories, watch Looking for Alaska on HULU.
Plaid Trench Coat - SheInside sent me this black and white plaid trench coat last week and I can't stop styling it with outfits for this fall and winter. This jacket isn't as thermal as I would like for it to be, but it's a perfect layering piece for chilly weather. Dress it down with a hoodie, leggings and sneakers for a street style look. Or, dress it up with cigarette pants and a blouse for a chic work look.
The Highwomen - I'm late to this country group, but The Highwomen are embody fall music. This rustic supergroup of country singers released their debut album this year. The group is comprised of Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires. Old Soul and Crowded Table are my favorite songs on the albums, you have to give them a listen.
