Weekly Skinny: September 4th
Another week, another weekly skinny! This week is particularly crazy for me because it’s recruitment week. After literally 10 months of planning, crafting, presenting, filling out paperwork, training and brain storming the week is finally here to recruit new member so my sorority. As happy as I’ll be to have hours and hours of time back in my schedule, I think I’ll feel a little empty at the fact that this huge project is now over. I’ll be sharing plenty of pictures and videos on Instagram and a blog recap in two weeks so stay tuned for that!
Right now we’re in the thick of recruitment planning. Once I get to Friday, the only thing we can do is execute what we’re prepared for and my stress will decrease immensely. For now, when I want to get my mind off my work, I’ve been online shopping, reading, and watching a little TV where I can squeeze in down time. Here’s what I’ve been loving…
Five Dark Fates - The final book in the Three Dark Crowns Series came out yesterday and I am so excited. I love Sci-Fi and fantasy books because they’re unexpected and exciting and this series is no exception. If you liked series like The Hunger Games and Red Queen then you’ll love this book.
Sweatshirt Dress - I went to H&M the other day to find the Cheetah Print dress linked below and I found this sweatshirt dress hanging on the rack. Not only was it only $14, but it’s so soft and so versatile. I can’t wait until it gets a little cooler so I can wear this around campus with a cute pair of Birkenstocks or sneakers.
Rain Runner Shorts - After browsing Free People’s website for what I feel like has been two straight weeks, I think I’ve found the perfect pair of running shorts. These Rain Runner Shorts are so. Stinking. Cute. The high waist, eyelet and ruffle detailing is so unique to any workout wear I’ve seen and I think they would be perfect styled on campus or at the gym.
Look for Alaska on HULU - If you’re a fan of the NY Times Bestseller book Looking for Alaska, you’ll be happy because it’s now coming to Hulu. This series airs on October 18th and is available to all Hulu subscribers. Kristine Froseth from the Society (one of the best shows from 2019) plays Alaska and I know she’ll be amazing.
Timothee Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp on the Carpet - The King premieres on Netflix on November 1st with Timothee Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp. As they tour the world doing press, they stepped out on the red carpet the other night looking absolutely breathtaking. Chalamet has always been one to make statements on red carpets, and now bringing Lily Rose along to the Venice Film Festival makes every head turn in their direction. Read more on Vogue.com.
Cheetah Wide Cut Dress - This is the dress I went to H&M yesterday to look for. Turns out they didn’t have it but I ended up finding something just as great. Cheetah is huge right now and this dress is so chic and would look great on so many different body types. You can wear this with over the knee boots, sneakers, sandals and heels for a more formal look. The dress runs a size big and is only $24!
